Bezhoek Private Nature Reserve Hiking
Join Impact Adventure Africa on this exclusive guided hike, with the most magnificent views, Bezhoek Nature Reserve is a private game reserve on over 4000 hectares and is situated in the Olifants River Valley in Middelburg, Mpumalanga.
The hiking trails meander through a wide range of terrain and ecosystems from extensive grasslands, cliffs, valleys, and riverine forestation. The Olifants and Klein Olifants rivers meander through the reserve and converge on the farm, allowing for some great swimming opportunity.
Frequent spotted on our trail is Giraffe, Eland, Blesbok, Springbok, Impala, Zebra, Warthog and Wildebeest.
This trail offers you intensive heritage and historical structures! Large stone walled iron age settlements, several panels of rock art with human, animals, and bird figures. Ample bird species, and an irreplaceable Cycad population, the Reserve’s biodiversity is an absolute must see!
The rock formations are out of this world.
There is no better way to truly experience the geology, history, flora and fauna of the Olifants River Valley than hiking through the mountains itself.
The whole objective of Bezhoek is restoring the various biodiversity of the reserve and to offer the visitors not only the opportunities for hiking and recreation, but the education and opportunity to get involved in various conservation projects while enjoying the scenery and wildlife of our area.

White Hiking Trail – 7 km
Average Time for this trail is 2 – 3 hours
Difficulty: Easy
Orange Hiking Trail – 13 km
Average Time for this trail is 5-6 hours
Difficulty: Challenging
There is directional signage, and the hikes are all guided due to the biodiversity sensitivity.
